Regional training within the project “At-Risk Youth Social Empowerment” was held from 05-07. July 2019. The training was dedicated to the creation of the Regional Advocacy Body that will in the future period continue to work on the sustainability of the project results.

Altogether 30 members of the NGOs and public authorities from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Serbia participated in the training. Participants were chosen among members of the national working groups that were established in each project country at the beginning of the project.

During the training, participants were working on the development of the common Platform that sets out main principles, norms and goals when it comes to youth at risk and which will serve as the basis for the work of the Regional body. At the same time, participants were working on the development of the advocacy plans regarding specific categories of youth at risk. Each advocacy plan contains measures that are to be implemented on both national and regional level. That way, one of the main tasks of the Regional body is going to be to advocate towards policy makers as well as towards wider public for development of policy solutions and introduction of services related to different categories of youth at risk: children and youth without parental care, children and young people with street experience, Roma children, children and youth who use psychoactive substances or are in conflict with the law, as well as children and young people who live in families who have a problem with the law or with the history of using psychoactive substances.

The Regional body will continue to promote results achieved within the project even after the project is finished and it is one of the tools to assure greater sustainability of the project results. Given the fact that the project resulted with numerous policy recommendations and concrete guidance for working with specific target groups, one of the tasks of the Regional body will be to advocate for their adequate implementation.
